Act Responsibly Today
Classroom Procedures
Classroom procedures are for your benefit. The following procedures
will help you do your work with less confusion and help you to
succeed!
Entering the classroom
Quietly walk into the classroom and get out your materials and begin working on
assignment or project. If you are late, you must have a pass!
During class (studio time) -
You are expected to be working on your assignment.Talking at a LOW VOLUME is allowed.
If this privilege is taken advantage of, you will lose it!! Electronic devices are allowed during studio time for music only provided that headphones are worn. They may not be on during instruction time. Students are not to use their device for texting, phone calls, pictures, videos or internet. (See PERSONAL PROPERTY in code of conduct)
Leaving the classroom
Restroom, office, locker – do ALL during studio time, fill out planner and I will sign. Only one person is allowed out at a time.
End of the period
Put away all materials and projects, clean work area, and sit in your seat quietly before I dismiss you! The clock does not dismiss you, I do!
Clean-Up
Art is messy, so we all must work together to keep the classroom as a workable space. You will have to clean up after yourself!
·Clean sinks, counters and tabletops
· All supplies put away in appropriate places
·Pick up trash on floor (even if its not yours)
·All stools are push in
·Tables are spotless and washed off
Attention
I have a procedure when I want your undivided attention. You will hear me ask
for your attention and at that time, I need you to:
Put your materials down
Look at me
Be quiet
Be still
Listen
Asking a question
Ask 3 before me! Your classmates may know the answers too!!
Computers
Project, sketchbook, classroom research ONLY! Everyone intending on using the internet MUST fill out an Internet Permission Slip – ask the librarian for one.
Borrowing pencils, pens, erasers, or checking out materials
Trade me something of yours for a pencil. As middle school students you should be responsible and have a pencil for art class at ALL TIMES!! You may check out books – simply write your name, material, and date on check-out form.
Turning in papers, sketchbooks, etc.
Name on everything! Sketchbooks, assignments, etc. – write name, date, and
number/title of sketch on bottom right hand corner of paper and turn into
appropriate folder or bin. Any papers without a name will not be graded.
Recycling
Please recycle ALL appropriate items: copy or drawing paper, envelopes,
magazines, and newspaper INSERTS. Do not recycle: construction paper, bright
papers, any paper with paint or glue, napkins, trash of any sort.
The bin is up front under the table with supplies, and
worksheets.
Student Portfolios-
It is your responsibility to organize your folder. You must put it in the proper row folder and class bin.
(I will tell you what class you are in!!) These folders should be kept in class and will be checked for 20 points at the end of the marking period.
BE RESPONSIBLE and hold yourself accountable!
